1 INTRODUCTION Dementia due to Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive syndrome leading to loss of brain function that affects memory, thinking, language, judgment and behavior. The approach to dementia diagnosis involves careful consideration of the patient's demographics and symptoms, family, social and medical history, neurologic examination, cognitive, behavioral, and functional assessments along with neuroimaging (Hugo & Ganguli, 2014; McKhann et al., 2011).
