Crude Levulinic acid Conversion to Valeric acid over La-TiO2 Supported Ni Catalyst: An Environmentally Friendly Route to Fuel Additive Synthesis Transformation of biomass conversion processes into energy or other valuable products is a sustainable route. This study encompasses the single step synthesis of valeric acid by hydrodeoxygenation of biomass derived crude levulinic acid using formic acid as a hydrogen source over different loadings of lanthanum modified TiO₂-supported Ni catalysts.

Surface Lewis Basic Site Enabled Proton Abstraction for the Regioselective Synthesis of Ynone and Flavone over Pd0/Cs-ZSM-5 Catalyst: Mechanistic Understanding and Structure-Activity Correlation Regioselective nature of the Pd0/Cs-ZSM-5 catalyst was established by HCOOH-IR and CO chemisorption. Mechanistic studies revealed that CO was activated on the surface Pd(0), and the alkyne proton was abstracted by the surface Lewis basic site, leading to the formation of flavones via the O-Pd-H-π complex.
