The slain bandit, identified as Babangida Kachala, was the second-in-command to notorious kingpin Kachala Shuaibu, whose network of armed groups has for years terrorised rural communities across Kogi State and neighbouring states. Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed a top bandits commander in Kogi State, in what security officials have described as a major breakthrough against criminal gangs operating in the North-Central state.
