Have you ever used a typewriter?
Whenever I see a typewriter, I sit before it and type under my fingers hurt. There are few things more beautiful than that zinnnnng.

Often, we now encounter opinion on an event before we encounter a description of it, which can be a problem...
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
Every party I've been to in the last few months I've tried to explain to non Twitter people the #adultbabytakeover. No one laughs.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Tweet me, DM me, email me, call me, whatever, I'm keen to communicate.
What's your favorite social network?
Not pretty enough for Instagram, not boring enough for Facebook. Gotta be Twitter, right?
Who do you wish followed you?
I wish I was followed by the people who most need to learn that open emotional expression is the best way to be happier.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Whenever people contact me to say that my articles about mental illness have helped them, that makes me feel great.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Any time of the day or night, I'm usually in front of a computer and always within earshot of my phone.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In front of a book, or walking my dog somewhere beautiful.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
The standard lefty stuff for news: New Statesman, Guardian, LRB, New Yorker, Atlantic, and to relax the English humour magazine, Viz.
