LAST SEASON After an extremely disappointing 2024-25 season, the Nashville Predators entered 2025-26 with significantly lower expectations. There weren’t any drastic changes made (certainly not at the level of 2025-26), and after picking fifth-overall in the 2025 NHL Draft, it felt like the Predators were beginning a much-needed rebuild phase. A 6-12-4 start to the season had them in last place in the league, and all signs pointed to another step in that direction.

Leafs sign Brendan Brisson to one-year contract Original

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced on Friday that they’ve signed center Brendan Brisson to a one-year, $850,000 salary. Brisson was an unrestricted free agent after the conclusion of his one-year, $775,000 contract with the New York Rangers for the 2025-26 season. Despite the fact that Brisson was still in his restricted free agent seasons, the Rangers opted not to give him a qualifying offer, sending him to the UFA market.
