The Edmonton Oilers began their offseason over the weekend, locking up two of their pending unrestricted free agents in center Jason Dickinson and defenseman Connor Murphy. Both players were trade deadline additions from the Chicago Blackhawks, and both players have proven to be excellent fits in Edmonton, as they both have extremely reliable defensive games, and play those in key roles in the Oilers lineup a the third-line center and top-four defenseman positions.

Ducks’ Troy Terry out 5-6 months after undergoing surgery

Terry missed 24 games in the second half of the season, 23 due to an undefined upper-body injury and one due to an undefined lower-body injury. While it hasn’t been confirmed by the Ducks, it’s possible that the upper-body injury could be related to the labral tear, and the lower-body injury could be related to the hip impingement. Terry undergoing this surgery in the offseason means that a good chunk of his recovery will occur while the Ducks aren’t playing.
