Scott Powers’s Biography

Scott Powers covers statewide politics in Florida for FloridaPolitics.com and Orlando-Rising.com, with emphasis on Central Florida, Congressional, and space-industry related news.
A 1981 journalism graduate of Ohio University, he spent more than 30 years working for newspapers in Texas, Ohio and Florida, including 12 years at the Columbus Dispatch and 15 years at the Orlando Sentinel. At the Sentinel he was an Orlando-based political reporter who also covered Kennedy Space Center and led numerous investigative projects, particularly involving computer-assisted reporting. His work won numerous awards.
He's also a published novelist, with his first book, The Roswell Swatch, a suspense thriller with sci-fi overtones, available now on Amazon.com.
In the field he usually wears a fedora.
