What was your first job as a journalist?
I covered the consumer technology beat at GadgetGuy.
How is social media changing news?
It has ramped up the speed and spread, and downed the accuracy.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Clark Kent.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email, as it allows me to answer/not answer in my own time.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Hardware: yy ever-dependable Apple MacBook Pro, a Microsoft Surface Pro on occasion, and an iPhone. Software: WordPress, Adobe CC.

Why did you become a journalist?
I started as a lexicographer, which is a tad niche. Being a journalist, writer, blogger, whatever, opened things up considerably.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No. I did put in some time at my university's arts magazine though.
When's the best time to pitch you?
My email inbox never closes! My phone does ... business hours please.
