1. Introduction Building energy consumption is a significant consideration in the current global energy landscape. Building operations constitute about 55% of the global electricity demand. To achieve the Paris Agreement goals, the energy usage of buildings must be reduced by 45% by 2030, a rate that is five times faster on an annual basis than that achieved over the past few years [1,2].
