Thu, June 4, 2026 at 9:56 PM SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. — A major stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike is shut down Thursday evening after a vehicle fire inside the Allegheny Tunnel. According to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, all lanes are closed in both directions between the Breezewood Interchange (Exit 161) and the New Stanton Interchange (Exit 75). Officials say the closure is due to a vehicle fire inside the tunnel. It’s not immediately clear how the fire started or if anyone was injured.
