Getting Started in Real Estate from NYC
@Vincent Chan Hi Vincent. Those are some excellent choices for books. I myself and a big fan of Rich Dad Poor Dad. Feel like that can really change your perspective on things. I live on Long Island and I invest out of state in Connecticut. Great opportunities for multi family holds with way cheaper taxes then NY. Make sure you establish relationships with some property management companies so you can have some eyes on the property if you can’t be there. Any other questions feel free to ask me.

notes on coats [lifestyle]
I imagine many of you have been hunkered down in your dorms throughout the neverending slew of midterms, surviving solely off of acerbic Ratty coffee and 1 a.m. Jo’s runs. But, if you’ve had the time to peek your head out of your window and onto your respective quadrangle, I’m sure you’ve noticed that it’s really damn cold all of a sudden. Personally, I’m not complaining. It’s my seasonal chance to show off my cold weather layers, which is exactly what we’re talking about today.
sartorial season: that french countryside look [lifestyle]
There is no showcase for one’s carefully crafted aesthetic quite like the fall season. Fall is when the nice little leaves fall off the nice little trees and we all get to wear our nice little outfits before giving in to the sludge of winter. With that in mind, I’m dedicating these next few articles to you, dear reader, to give some pointers for dressing this fall.
sweating towards bethlehem [lifestyle]
The time is upon us when the sun operates as both friend and foe. In these transitional seasons, finding the right combination to keep you both warm for those chilly morning classes and cool under the scorching afternoon sun is almost impossible.
the society man [lifestyle]
From the days of the broad-shouldered financiers who peddled an English drape to the dependable flannels of the power suit, Ivy League campuses have always been hotbeds of the styles associated with the upper class. Originating in Princeton and Yale (sorry guys—we can’t take credit for this one), high society fashion has managed to sneak its way into every decade since the height of its popularity in the ‘50s and ‘60s.
voyaging vestments [lifestyle]
The Alps presented a problem. The mountains, spotted with white provincial houses angled on the slopes, flanked our train car. This day of travel was an opportunity to experience rustic clothing and an aestheticization of mountain life so extreme I’m surprised we didn’t go looking for edelweiss—lederhosen and all.
A New DOJ Policy Provides Significant Benefits for Self-Disclosing Misconduct
The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) recently announced a nationwide policy that gives credits for companies that make “voluntary self-disclosures” for corporate misconduct. The policy builds on changes to DOJ’s Corporate Enforcement Policy that was announced in January.
far from the thrifting crowd [lifestyle]
The rain waltzed through the antiquated, beige porticos lining the cobblestone streets. Soaked as I was, there was respite in the distance, peeking through the sun-dappled smog: Humana Vintage in all its vanity-inducing glory. The thrifting here in Bologna has been a real treat for a clothing maniac like me. In the past week or two I have found more classic pieces than I have during my twenty years in the United States.
The Best Dressed Man in Bologna
Here we are again in the dead of a seemingly neverending winter. But, hell, that’s what Februaries are for. I hope that you all are staying toasty and layered up, because I seem to have found myself overseas, some four thousand miles from home, and it’s just as fucking frigid. But, here I am, doing some old fashioned reportage for you old fashioned readers, on the city of Bologna, Italy and its denizens.
dark academia, fast fashion, and you [lifestyle]
The annoying, prodding question galavanting across every purchase: What does it mean to be fashionable? It is a question unanswerable, too subjective to even approach. Yet a thousand different corners have thrown a thousand different hats in the ring.
halloween costumes for the sartorially challenged [lifestyle]
If you’re like me, Halloween is the time for last-minute panic and candy indulgence, a time for throwing together the shittiest costume the world’s ever seen and going, “No, you just don’t get the reference,” to people who see right through your Spooky Season laziness. But, as the old adage goes, those who can’t do, teach! Today I’ll be giving you some Halloween costume ideas to try and save you from the inevitable early exits at parties.

By Jacqueline and Sean Toomey Firefighter health should not be "collateral damage" from a career on the job. The inadvertent destruction from being addicted to awake is one of the greatest threats that firefighters face today. Recently, a chief told me he didn’t know if his members thought the topic of sleep was information worth learning.
