Sean Deveney’s Biography

Sean Deveney has been a professional writer and editor for more than 25 years, working most recently with Athlon Sports as an editor and content producer.

Starting with Sporting News in the late 1990s, Deveney traveled to the World Series, the Super Bowl, the NCAA tournament, the PGA Championship and the NHL playoffs, also writing about 18 NBA FInals.

Deveney has written lengthy feature stories about major sports figures including LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and Pedro Martinez, and conducted in-depth interviews with the likes of Shaquille O'Neal, Roger Staubach and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

He is the author of several books, including Greed and Glory, Fun City and The Original Curse, which have been featured on Sirius XM Radio, on ESPN, in the New York Times and in USA Today.
