"He was amazing," says Mike, who thanked the community for the outpouring of love the Gotos have felt since their loss on May 30. "Could not have asked for a better father." Andy had been battling Stage 4 cancer for 18 months, but it still felt like a shock when he passed at 86.

A Quincy grad and Menlo College (California) wrestling standout continued her sterling career as a practitioner of the world’s oldest sport by qualifying for the U-20 Wrestling Panamerican Games in Lima, Peru. Shannon “Ducky” Workinger earned her spot during a World Team Trials in Spokane earlier this spring, finishing in second place in her weight class, 72 kg. (158 lbs.) In the Lilac City, Workinger went up against grapplers from around the United States.
