Floating offshore turbines are a promising solution to capture the wind energy potential found in the oceans. However, these structures might face aggressive environmental conditions that can jeopardize its structural integrity. In that account, its design relies on the use of modeling tools that can simulate the entire coupled system behavior. To address this challenge, this doctoral thesis presents a complete numerical framework for the simulation of floating offshore wind turbines.
