Saints fall late in preseason opener

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints fall to the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-20, in their preseason opener. New Orleans led for the majority of this game, but Jags RB J'Mari Taylor scored a 4th quarter rushing TD to give Jacksonville the lead for good. In the backup QB battle, Spencer Rattler was 8/11 for 42 yards with a fumble lost. Meanwhile, Zach Wilson was 11/16 for 145 yards and 1 touchdown. This story continues below.

Alvin Kamara hints at remaining with Saints, plans to play in 2026

NEW ORLEANS — The future of running back Alvin Kamara has been one of the biggest questions surrounding the New Orleans Saints this offseason. There’s been speculation about everything from retirement to whether the team might move on from the veteran running back. But Kamara doesn’t sound like he’s going anywhere just yet. He appeared on “The Set” podcast, hosted by former teammate Terron Armstead, where he said he’s been training in Miami and hinted he plans to play in 2026 with the Saints.

LSU QB Nussmeier drafted by Chiefs in 7th Round of NFL Draft

LSU Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 249th pick in the 7th round of the NFL Draft. Nussmeier was projected by some draft websites as the 3rd best Quarterback in the draft but slipped to the 7th round after going through an injury-riddled senior season in 2025. Nussmeier battled through a torso injury that was suffered during fall camp. He threw for 1,975 yards, 12 touchdowns and 5 interceptions as a senior.
