1 Introduction Thermal burns of the cornea are uncommon but potentially sight-threatening injuries. They typically result from direct exposure to high-temperature sources such as molten metal, hot liquids, or surgical energy devices. Unlike chemical burns, which often produce diffuse and progressive tissue damage, thermal burns generally induce localized necrosis with sharply demarcated borders [1].
