Most young adults think they're too savvy to fall for a scam, so you may be surprised that's the age group both the Federal Trade Commission and Better Business Bureau say is the group most often falling for scams. In a video on the FTC's YouTube channel, Chairman Andrew Ferguson breaks down the myths of who gets scammed more often. "Any of us can be targeted by scams," he says. "And each year, millions of people report those scams to the FTC.

The recent cyber attack on Canvas, the cloud based learning system used by school districts and colleges, ended with data being returned. Still, students, teachers and professors may be concerned about their personal information being compromised. The system was hacked at the beginning of May, near the end of the spring semester. This is a time when students at the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University were either taking, or preparing for, final exams.

If you're a recent college graduate and you haven't landed a job yet, you are not alone. However, scammers may try to take advantage of your situation. You completed the credits. You earned the degree, but you don't yet have a job. Graduating from college is a major milestone. First, breathe and be proud of what you accomplished. Second, don't let not landing a job right away discourage you and lead you into desperation.
