Medium — Bryan Cranston returned to television screens in these United States on Sunday, 6 December 2020 with Showtime’s Your Honor. Your Honor, developed by Peter Moffat, is an adaptation of the Israeli television series Kvodo. Your Honor, with a ten episode run, stars Cranston as a respected judge whose son is involved in a hit-and-run accident. Consequently, because of the situation, the accident leads to a high-stakes game of lies, deceit, and impossible choices. The miniseries, with Edward Berger and Clark Johnson having directed episodes, initially seems like a slam dunk for Showtime. Despite this point, noting critic reaction to the production, not everyone is on board with Your Honor. The overall feel of the miniseries, even though it is a Showtime production, is reminiscent of British dramas.

Lyra Belacqua, for people not familiar with the name, is also known as Lyra Silvertongue. Elsewhere, after crossing paths with Sir Charles Latrom, Lyra has her alethiometer stolen. Later, after Lyra discovers the alethiometer missing, she confronts Sir Charles at his residence. It is here, accompanied by Will Parry, Lyra realises Sir Charles is the Lord Carlo Boreal from her own world. Sir Charles tasks Lyra and Will with retrieving The Subtle Knife from the Tower of Angels. The fourth episode, with Lyra and Will having returned to the world where the Tower of Angels is located, picks up the story with the two lead characters trying to figure out a way into the tower.

His Dark Materials, adapted for television by writer Jack Thorne, continues to entertain fans. The second series, revolving around events depicted in Philip Pullman’s The Subtle Knife, picked up Lyra Silvertongue’s (Dafne Keen) story from the moment she stepped through the rift her father created at the end of the first series. The Magisterium’s relationship with realty, as we have seen thus far during this second series, has become increasingly estranged. There is a clear intent from the Magisterium, based on behaviour exhibited by the clergy, to keep a firm grip on power. Denying everything that exists doesn’t make it unreal.

'Law & Order: SVU': S22.E02. "Ballad of Dwight and Irene"

Medium — Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, currently in the twenty-second season, continues to present compelling in the moment stories. The latest episode, televised on Thursday, 19 November 2020, is no different. Martha Mitchell’s Ballad of Dwight and Irena, directly addresses domestic violence, sees Detective 2nd Grade Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) and Officer Katriona “Kat” Tamin (Jamie Gray Hyder) respond to a possible domestic violence situation. It is here that Irena Nowak (Riki Lindhome) is discovered unconscious. Anyone that doesn’t think domestic violence affects families is either delusional or has never experienced it first hand. Dwight Wagner (Christopher Cassarino), with a clearly abusive nature, quintessentially typifies toxic masculinity. Expecting to find Irena dead, when detectives return to the apartment, they discover the victim is Dwight.

Never Trust a Stranger briefly addresses discrimination towards minorities, African Americans and the LGBTQIA community. The episode's teaser, setting into motion a significantly dramatic storyline, sees two killers shooting up a Brooklyn media company. Katherine Renee Turner, joining the series regular cast, plays Special Agent Tiffany Wallace. Tiffany, a former NYPD officer and White Collar division agent, is quickly established as Special Agent Stuart Scola’s new partner.
