Abstract Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) is an inherited autoinflammatory disease characterized by recurrent episodes of fever and serositis caused by mutations in the MEFV gene. FMF primarily affects individuals of Mediterranean ancestry. Typical manifestations include short-lasting attacks of abdominal pain, chest pain, and arthritis. Long-term complications, such as amyloidosis, might be prevented with colchicine treatment.
