Sreepur Zaminder house in Magura district is on the verge of ruination due to lack of proper maintenance. This historical site stands in Sreepur Upazila headquarters and 15-km away from Magura town. According to the local history, Sarada Ranjan Pal purchased zamindary (land property in Sreepur region) from Nawab Alibardi Khan. Subsequently, Uday Aditya, son of Jashore region king Pratapaditya, married Biva Rani Pal, daughter of Sharada Ranjan Pal.

Ten bicycle riders started their journey from Kolkata, India to Dhaka Central Shahid Minar to lay flowers on the altar of language martyrs. Today Sunday they crossed Magura to go to Dhaka via Faridpur. They stopped at a hotel in Magura city on Saturday night. A travel agency named 100 Miles of Kolkata is the initiator of this great journey. Swarjit Roy, leader of this organization and team leader of the bicycle team, said that February is International Mother Language Day.
