Engagement of the TCR against an oncolytic virus generates a population of effector CAR T cells with potent antitumor activity
Abstract INTRODUCTION RESULTS DISCUSSION MATERIALS AND METHODS Acknowledgments Supplementary Materials REFERENCES Information & Authors Metrics & Citations View Options References Figures Tables Media Share Abstract Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy faces many challenges against solid tumors including T cell exhaustion and poor CAR durability.
Author Correction: Palbociclib and dsRNA sensor co-operate to enhance anti-cancer effects through ER stress and modulation of immune evasion - Nature Communications
Correction to: Nature Communications https://doi.org/10.1038/s41467-025-60133-5, published online 25 May 2025 In the version of the article initially published, the surname of Malin Pedersen appeared incorrectly (as Pederson) and has now been amended in the HTML and PDF versions of the article.
The PARP inhibitor talazoparib synergizes with reovirus to induce cancer killing and tumour control in vivo in mouse models - Nature Communications
|
Abstract Reovirus type 3 Dearing (RT3D) is an oncolytic, double-stranded RNA virus. To identify potential RT3D drug-viral sensitizer, here we use a high-throughput screen of therapeutic agents and find a PARP-1 inhibitor, talazoparib, as a top hit. RT3D interacts with retinoic acid-induced gene-1 (RIG-I) and activates PARP-1, with consequent PARylation of components of the extrinsic apoptosis pathway.

Palbociclib and dsRNA sensor co-operate to enhance anti-cancer effects through ER stress and modulation of immune evasion - Nature Communications
Abstract Cytoplasmic pattern recognition receptors (PRR) for double-stranded RNA, such as RIG-I/MDA5, are key mediators of anti-viral responses. Here we screen for synergistic drug-virotherapy combinations and find that the reovirus type III Dearing strain (Rt3D)-palbociclib combination augments oncolytic virus-induced stress responses and increases interferon production and signaling.
PBRM1 directs PBAF to pericentromeres and protects centromere integrity - Nature Communications
Abstract The specialised structure of the centromere is critical for effective chromosome segregation, but its repetitive nature makes it vulnerable to rearrangements. Centromere fragility can drive tumorigenesis, but protective mechanisms preventing fragility are still not fully understood. The PBAF chromatin remodelling complex is frequently misregulated in cancer, but its role in cancer is incompletely characterized.
Sculpting the tumour microenvironment by combining radiotherapy and ATR inhibition for curative-intent adjuvant immunotherapy - Nature Communications
Abstract The combination of radiotherapy/chemoradiotherapy and immune checkpoint blockade can result in poor outcomes in patients with locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show that combining ATR inhibition (ATRi) with radiotherapy (RT) increases the frequency of activated NKG2A+PD-1+ T cells in animal models of HNSCC.
Combination of oncolytic Maraba virus with immune checkpoint blockade overcomes therapy resistance in an immunologically cold model of advanced melanoma with dysfunctional T cell receptor signalling.
Abstract Abstract Background: Over the past decade, cancer immunotherapies have revolutionised the treatment of melanoma; however, responses vary across patient populations. Recently, baseline tumour size has been identified as an independent prognostic factor for overall survival in melanoma patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). MG1 is a novel oncolytic agent with broad tumour tropism that has recently entered early phase clinical trials.
SOX11 promotes epithelial/mesenchymal hybrid state and alters tropism of invasive breast cancer cells
Abstract SOX11 is an embryonic mammary epithelial marker that is normally silenced prior to birth. High SOX11 levels in breast tumours are significantly associated with distant metastasis and poor outcome in breast cancer patients.
