UAE committee raises tariffs Special 95 hits AED3.80 August prices up 6% The UAE has hiked retail prices for petrol and diesel for August as the value of oil rose by a fifth in July. The UAE Fuel Price Committee, which reviews retail prices for drivers at the end of each month, will add AED0.20 (5 US cents) per litre to all fuels. Super 98 will rise to AED3.60 per litre, E-Plus 91 to AED3.41 and diesel to AED3.80.

Burjeel prices $500m sukuk as Gulf debt issuance gathers pace

UAE healthcare provider Burjeel Holdings has raised $500 million through its inaugural dollar sukuk after attracting more than three times that amount in investor orders, as demand for Gulf corporate debt continues to recover. The Abu Dhabi-listed company priced the five-year sukuk with a 7 percent profit rate, after demand reached about $1.6 billion.

Masdar buys stake in Spanish renewables portfolio

Abu Dhabi future energy company Masdar has acquired a stake in Spanish energy company Repsol for €849 million ($981 million). The 49.99 percent stake will include 705 megawatts (MW) of operational capacity, including 13 wind farms (402 MW) and six photovoltaic solar parks (303 MW), Masdar said in a statement. The portfolio also includes 565 MW of potential pipeline growth, comprising wind, solar and battery storage.
