Last month, ASLO announced that its Executive Director, Teresa Curto, would be stepping down at the end of this year after nearly thirteen years successfully guiding the organization. The ASLO Board of Directors has formed a search committee chaired by ASLO Past-President Susanne Menden-Deuer to oversee the selection of the new Executive Director.

The Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the next cohort of the ASLO Emerging Fellows Program. Launched in 2026 as a pilot initiative with support from the Schmidt Ocean Coalition and the Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation, and with continued support from the Schmidt Ocean Coalition, the Emerging Fellows Program builds on ASLO’s commitment to foster the next generation of leaders in aquatic science.

ASLO thrives because of its dedicated, enthusiastic members that serve and move our society forward in a myriad of ways. ASLO recognizes its most outstanding members through the ASLO Fellows or Sustaining Fellows distinction. Have you or someone you know achieved this standing? We need your help to highlight those members who have impacted ASLO consistently.
