1 Introduction Magnetic hyperthermia is a promising therapeutic technique used in clinical practice as a complementary treatment with chemotherapy against glioblastoma [1, 2]. Further, preclinical data suggest that it holds significant potential for a broader range of biomedical applications, such as synergistic elimination of bacterial biofilms [3] and controlled drug delivery for enhanced multimodal cancer treatment [4].

Magnetic particle imaging (MPI) is a promising imaging modality with potential medical applications in imaging of inflamed vasculature, blood perfusion, solid tumors, and cell-based therapeutics. (1,2) MPI uses the nonlinear magnetic response of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) to an external magnetic field with no signal contribution from surrounding tissue.

1 INTRODUCTION Chronic inflammatory diseases place a significant burden on the healthcare systems globally. They account for over 50% of all worldwide deaths and contribute substantially to the morbidity of millions of individuals (Furman et al., 2019; Roth et al., 2018). These conditions encompass a diverse group of disorders characterized by persistent activation of the immune system, resulting in prolonged inflammation and tissue damage across multiple organs.
