The Boys and Girls Club of the Big Bend is known for serving thousands of children in the area. The organization works to provide a positive environment through their five core focus areas: career and academics, healthy living, career development, the arts, and sports and fitness.

New members are considered to be “on-line.” It may look easy enough, but there is much more than what meets the eye. On-line is the same terminology that Greek organizations use to refer to their neophytes. A term used to refer to a new member of the National Pan-Hellenic council association who has not paid their dues. A neophyte’s time on line can be onerous.

As we enter a new month, from a tumultuous Black History Month, I could not help but to remember the reason why it began in the first place.
