Background: Survival after the Whipple procedure for either pancreatic cancer or cholangiocarcinoma remains poor. The use of a strong prognostic tool is useful to anticipate survival, and this is important at various levels of patient care. A potential prognostic factor may be the lymph node ratio (LNR). This study aims at assessing the effect of LNR on survival outcomes.
