Robotaxi Malfunctions are Raising Safety Concerns
The key question is not whether autonomous vehicles will ever be perfect, but whether regulators and lawmakers can keep pace with the risks as they emerge. During the aftermath of the mass shooting in Austin on March 1, 2026, a Waymo car sat blocking an ambulance from approaching the scene. Fortunately, local law enforcement had been trained on how to handle this scenario, thanks to regulations in Texas, and were able to move the robotaxi out of the way without much delay.
Who Is Liable for a Shooting at an Apartment Complex?
Tenants have the right to expect reasonable safety where they live, and when that trust is broken, the law may provide a path to justice. Shootings at apartment complexes are tragic and frightening events. For residents, they raise an important question: could this have been prevented, and who is responsible when it happens? In many cases, the issue comes down to negligent security.
Why Fatal Car Crash Lawsuits in the U.S. Are So Complex
Until meaningful change is made, families will continue to face not only heartbreaking loss, but a long and complicated path through the legal system. Every year, tens of thousands of people lose their lives on American roads. In 2022 alone, nearly 42,800 people died in motor vehicle accidents in the United States. While this was a slight drop from the year before, the U.S. remains an outlier when compared to other developed nations.
The Legal Challenges Facing Tesla and Waymo's Robotaxis
For Tesla, Waymo, and other AV companies, navigating these legal roadblocks will be just as crucial as improving the technology itself. The race to bring fully autonomous ride-hailing services to the streets is heating up, with companies like Tesla and Waymo leading the charge. Waymo, Alphabet’s self-driving subsidiary, has already launched its robotaxi services in multiple U.S. cities, while Tesla is preparing to roll out its Cybercab ride-hailing service in Austin later in 2025.

A Look at Self-Driving Car Deaths
The future of autonomous vehicles depends not only on the capabilities of the technology but also on the industry’s commitment to safety and the public’s trust in its potential to improve our lives. As the development and deployment of self-driving vehicles continues to accelerate, so do the concerns surrounding their safety. Autonomous technology promises to revolutionize transportation, but it also poses significant risks.

The 10 Most Recalled Passenger Vehicles of All Time Original
There have been some major, embarrassing car recalls throughout history. Car companies usually issue a recall when they discover a problem with one of their vehicles; registered owners are then notified by mail within 60 days of car manufacturers alerting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Once a recall is announced, it’s up to car owners to bring their ride into a dealership and request the fix.
How Many Americans Know a Victim of Gun Violence? - Legal Reader
Improving how we handle gun crimes, protecting victims’ rights, and getting help for those with mental health issues are all steps we can take in the right direction to try and reduce the number of gun related crimes and victims. Gun violence is a problem that still plagues millions of people in America every year. Even though gun rights and gun control are a sensitive and complex issue, there is very little data on the number of people dramatically affected by gun violence. That is until now.
Data Study: Accidental Death in the United States - Legal Reader
One of the most important things you can do is follow proper safety guidelines whether working or engaging in recreational activity. Millions of people die in the United States every year. These deaths occur due to a variety of causes. For instance, during the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020, some 3.4 million Americans died. That’s over 500,000 more people than the previous year in 2019.

Does Wisconsin Have Dram Shop or Social Host Liability Laws?
What does that mean for Wisconsin social hosts? Social host liability refers to the idea that a person might be responsible for the conduct of their guests at a social gathering. Most often, social host liability comes into play when alcohol is involved – in most states, an intoxicated person’s negligence can also implicate the person who provided them with the alcohol, in certain circumstances. In Wisconsin, the same is true, but to a lesser degree.
Mesothelioma Statistics in the U.S.
Around 3,000 people are diagnosed with mesothelioma in the U.S. each year. Mesothelioma lawsuits are infrequent these days, due to reduction of asbestos use across America. When they do occur, however, they usually end in a million-dollar settlement or more. Mesothelioma cases are favorable to the victim, because it’s not difficult to prove that companies knew about their asbestos use and hid its negative effects.
Data Reveals Deadliest Roads for Motorcyclists
It’s impossible to truly know why crashes occur on these roads in particular, but many factors may contribute. One type of vehicle accident that is frequently handled by personal injury lawyers is motorcycle accidents. Motorcycles not only have a higher risk of crashing than other vehicles, but the injuries suffered from these crashes can be catastrophic. Without the protection of a car or truck, motorcyclists are subject to the direct impact of the crash.
The Most Recalled Vehicles in the U.S.
To find out if your car has any current recalls, you can check the NHTSA’s recall database. A recent analysis of NHTSA recall data revealed the most recalled vehicle makes and models of all time in the United States. The data summary examined unique recalls, of which there were 22,559 total, affecting millions of vehicles. Of these, only 17.3% were recalls initiated by the NHTSA, with the rest being initiated by the vehicle manufacturers themselves.
What Are Ontario’s Statutory Accident Benefits?
In the case of a fatal car accident, these benefits will help pay for funeral expenses and related fees. In Ontario, Canada, anyone involved in a motor vehicle accident is legally entitled to benefits. These benefits – called statutory accident benefits or SABs – are “no-fault”. This means that even if you were at fault for the accident, you are eligible. After a car accident in America, the injured party usually sues the at-fault driver in a personal injury lawsuit.
Which States Have Damage Caps?
This list is not exhaustive, since there are many types of personal injury claims and some come with different caps. In personal injury cases – whether it be a car accident, medical malpractice, or wrongful death claim – the goal is to recover compensation. This money goes towards helping the victim recover from their injury, or helping surviving family members navigate the death of their loved one.
What to Do After Getting Arrested in Colorado
One final tip: If you are able to return home and access your smartphone, do not post on social media. Anything you share can be used against you in court. If you have committed a crime in Colorado, or you are suspected of doing so, you could be arrested. The police need probable cause that you committed a crime to arrest you, such as witnessing you commit a crime. If they didn’t witness the crime, they need enough probable cause, or they need to go to a judge and get a warrant.

Workplace Temperature Laws
To prevent heat illness, wear loose fitting, light colored, and light weight clothing when working in hot temperatures. Parts of America are going through a heat wave, and everyone is encouraged to stay inside with air conditioning. But what if your workplace is outdoors? Or in an industry with hot temperatures? Injuries and illnesses from hot temperatures are not uncommon in the workplace. The most serious type of heat-related illness you can get is a heat stroke.

Texas: A Dangerous Place for Construction Workers

Texas is one of the states with the highest number of construction accidents. And it’s not only construction workers that are getting injured and killed in these incidents; there are many civilian traffic accidents caused by construction work zones in Texas.
Wisconsin Car Accident Trends
The safest months to drive are January, February, and March, so keep this in mind when driving in Wisconsin. And look out for deer. National trends show year after year that car accidents increase in the summertime. It’s not a total mystery – kids are out of school, people are going on vacation or to the beach – so it’s natural that more cars on the road will lead to more crashes.

The Fatal Four Construction Hazards
Another risk on construction sites is being hit by a falling or flying object. It’s no surprise that construction sites are a dangerous place, due to dangerous tools, large equipment, and heavy materials. Disability Lawsuits: From on the Streets to Online
No matter what type of accessibility lawsuit it is, many defendants choose to fix the compliance problem and settle out of court, since it’s the less costly option. Albert Dytch has filed over 180 ADA lawsuits in the state of California. Mr. Dytch is a man in his 70’s who has muscular dystrophy and uses a wheelchair to get around. Unfortunately, many businesses throughout the country are not ADA compliant, making them inaccessible to wheelchair users. Mr. Dytch is on a mission to fix that.

Social Media Best Practices During a Personal Injury Lawsuit
Remember, the internet is forever. Be thoughtful during your lawsuit and remember that anything you post online could hurt your case. If you are someone who’s active on social media, it probably feels natural to update your followers after a major incident. If you were injured in a car accident, or maybe a slip and fall, you may want to assure your friends that you’re okay and tell them what happened. But it’s best to think twice before posting.
Asbestos in New York
Thousands of buildings throughout New York contain asbestos, so when workers are in and around those heating and ventilation systems, there is a high risk of exposure. A brief history of asbestos shows that it’s a fireproof material that was essential to many industries throughout the 20th century. Even though asbestos was used to protect people from fires, it ultimately caused harm to humans. In fact, many manufacturers knew fairly early on that asbestos caused health problems but didn’t speak up.
3 Bizarre Florida Injury Lawsuits
What would happen if someone decided to sneak in after hours and swim with the killer whales? Well, they would probably be killed. If the United States were a family, Florida would probably be seen as the crazy cousin. With plenty of crime stories from the sunshine state making the news, it is often viewed as the most disorderly place in the country. But despite its “Florida Man” news stories, do these bizarre situations actually turn into lawsuits?
COVID-19 Business Interruption Claims in California
Business interruption claims can be denied for several valid reasons. The new surge of COVID-19 outbreaks is undeniable, and has particularly skyrocketed in San Diego recently. Over the last few months in California, there has already been a comeback of mask mandates, school closures, and of course, businesses closing their doors. Even if these business closures are temporary, it can be extremely detrimental for business owners to close, even for a few days.
Can a Car Accident Cause Amnesia?
Often temporary, dissociative amnesia occurs when your mind is avoiding processing intense information. It’s an emotional shock and psychological response, rather than actual brain damage. One of the most common injuries sustained in car accidents is a head injury. From the commonly sustained whiplash all the way to a concussion, the force of being in a car collision can be detrimental to the head and neck in several ways. The most serious brain injury is called a TBI, or Traumatic Brain Injury.
