Introduction A variety of oral drug dosage forms including tablets, capsules, suspensions, granules, pellets, and powders, are approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).1 Yet, administration of select oral formulations may be challenging in medical conditions associated with swallowing disorders (e.g., stroke, physical obstruction, neurological diseases, head and neck injury, and cancers).2 For these patients, enteral tubes play an essential role for drug delivery.
