The chromosome-level genome assembly of Sakhalin surf clam, Spisula sachalinensis
Abstract The Sakhalin surf clam Spisula sachalinensis is a large cold-water bivalve with high economic, ecological and evolutionary significance, serving as an important aquaculture resource, an eco-environmental indicator for marine conditions, and a non-model organism for studying longevity mechanisms. However, the lack of comprehensive genomic resources has hindered evolutionary studies and molecular breeding research. Here, we report a high-quality chromosome-level genome assembly for S.
FoxL2 exhibits two-stage expression and maintains the ovarian niche in a lophotrochozoan
Abstract The genetic pathways governing sex determination remain a key enigma in lophotrochozoans, a major branch of bilaterian animals, hindering a comprehensive understanding of their evolution. Here, we enable genetic analysis in the gonochoristic scallop Chlamys farreri by developing robust female-specific DNA markers for accurate molecular sex identification. Leveraging this, we perform a systematic dissection of a female sex-determination pathway in this major bilaterian clade.

2D structural annotation and 3D reconstruction of the whole brain of Alligator sinensis
1 INTRODUCTION Advances in imaging technology and the biological sciences have greatly broadened both the scope and methodology of reptilian brain-atlas research. High-resolution 3D models of the lizard brain have been generated using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). An averaged 3D image derived from the brains of 13 lizards enabled the identification of 224 structures and the production of a highly detailed 3D brain atlas (Hoops et al., 2018; Hoops et al., 2021).
Programmable Control Over Radical and Non‑Radical Pathways in Fenton‑Like Catalysis via Carbon‑Encapsulated Iron Nanoreactors
1 Introduction Currently, most research on advanced oxidation processes not only emphasizes the selective generation of specific reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the coordination between radical and non-radical pathways, but also extends its focus toward practical engineering applications, including catalyst stability, cost-effectiveness, scalability, chemical consumption, secondary pollution, and the ability to address complex, multi-pollutant scenarios in real-world environments [1-4].
Whole genome DNA methylation atlas of the scallop Patinopecten yessoensis
Abstract DNA methylation, a fundamental epigenetic mechanism in eukaryotes, remains inadequately studied in the second-largest animal phylum, Mollusca. This gap persists due to a lack of comprehensive cross-tissue methylome data, which has hindered a deeper understanding of its regulatory roles in various organs in molluscs. To address this, we utilized the Yesso scallop (Patinopecten yessoensis), which retains most of the ancestral bilaterian gene families as a model system.

Antagonistic Ubiquitin Switching by USP7 and RNF40 Orchestrates KDM6A Homeostasis to License Coronavirus Susceptibility
1 Introduction The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic continues to be a major threat to public health. The evolution of SARS-CoV-2 resulted in reduced efficacy for current authorized vaccines [1, 2], monoclonal antibodies [3-6], and antiviral drugs [7-9], which highlights the need for broad-spectrum antiviral strategies against current and emerging coronaviruses.

Multi-omics reveals nitrogen dynamics associated with soil microbial blooms during snowmelt - Nature Microbiology
Abstract Snowmelt triggers a soil microbial bloom and crash that affects nitrogen (N) export in high-elevation watersheds. The mechanisms underlying these microbial dynamics are uncertain, making soil nitrogen processes difficult to predict as snowpack declines globally.
Non-HDL-C/HDL-C Ratio and N-Terminal Pro-B-Type Natriuretic Peptide in the general and hospital-based population: a cross-sectional validation study
Introduction In the past few years, there has been a notable increase in the occurrence of cardiovascular diseases (CVD), making it one of the key health challenges worldwide. As the population continues to age and the effects of unhealthy lifestyles remain, it is anticipated that the rates of morbidity and mortality linked to CVD will further escalate, presenting a significant obstacle for public health systems around the globe (1, 2).

Unveiling Species Diversity within Early-Diverging Fungi from China IX: Four New Species of Mucor (Mucoromycota)
You are already at the latest version Mucor species are fast-growing filamentous fungi, widespread in natural ecosystems. As opportunistic pathogens, some species can cause mucormycoses in humans and animals, while others hold significant economic value in food fermentation and bioengineering. In this study, four novel species were identified from soil samples collected in Xizang and Yunnan, China, based on molecular data, morphological characteristics, and maximum growth temperatures.

A Taxonomic and Phylogenetic Study of Anamorphic Strains of Daldinia (Hypoxylaceae, Xylariales) in Southern China
1. Introduction The genus Daldinia (Hypoxylaceae, Xylariales) was introduced by Cesati and De Notaris, as a tribute to the Swiss monk, Agostino Daldini [1], and it is now recognized as one of the largest genera within Hypoxylaceae (Xylariales, Ascomycota). The identification of Daldinia species traditionally relies on the presence of internal concentric zones beneath the perithecial layer and the detection of KOH-extractable pigments below and on the stromatal surface [2].
Correction to “Design of a Multifunctional Nanozyme for Resolving the Proinflammatory Plaque Microenvironment and Attenuating Atherosclerosis”
The authors regret that Figures 7a and 8a in the original version of the article contained several unintentional mistakes during the figure compilation process. This was an honest mistake. The corresponding main text and scientific conclusions in this paper remain correct and unaffected.

Tracking the hologenome dynamics in aquatic invertebrates by the holo-2bRAD approach - Communications Biology
Abstract The “hologenome” concept is an increasingly popular way of thinking about microbiome-host for marine organisms. However, it is challenging to track hologenome dynamics because of the large amount of material, with tracking itself usually resulting in damage or death of the research object. Here we show the simple and efficient holo-2bRAD approach for the tracking of hologenome dynamics in marine invertebrates (i.e., scallop and shrimp) from one holo-2bRAD library.

Temporospatial hierarchy and allele-specific expression of zygotic genome activation revealed by distant interspecific urochordate hybrids - Nature Communications
Abstract Zygotic genome activation (ZGA) is a universal process in early embryogenesis of metazoan, when the quiescent zygotic nucleus initiates global transcription. However, the mechanisms related to massive genome activation and allele-specific expression (ASE) remain not well understood. Here, we develop hybrids from two deeply diverged (120 Mya) ascidian species to symmetrically document the dynamics of ZGA.
