1 Introduction Abiotic stresses including drought, high salinity, extreme temperatures, and excessive light impair plant growth and development, ultimately reducing crop quality and productivity (Nurrahma et al., 2024; Oyebamiji et al., 2024; Zheng et al., 2021). Field studies on crops including sugarcane, maize, wheat, soybean, and oat show that abiotic stresses can reduce yields by up to 85% (Shabbir et al., 2022; Zhang et al., 2017).
