Amazon doubles down on India data centres with Rs 650-crore Mumbai land lease from L&T

Amazon Data Services, the data centre arm of Amazon Web Services, has leased an additional four acres of land from engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro in Mumbai's Powai suburb, people familiar with the development said. The lease, which runs for more than 17 years, is expected to entail a total rental outgo of over Rs 650 crore. The starting rent has been set at around Rs 69 lakh per acre per month and will increase by 3 percent annually.

Lemon Tree Hotels chairman and managing director Patu Keswani expects the number of Indian households using branded hotels to surge to 30 million by 2030, up from the current 5 million, even as he urged caution on aggressive capital deployment. Writing in a report on buying and selling of hotels, by hospitality consultants Noesis, Keswani, warned that investments towards the development and management of hotels should be calibrated.
