Updated: September 16, 2020 3:53:31 pm Data collected by apps far exceeds what they require for providing their service Written by Shilpa Kumar A harmless social media “like or share” that could eventually influence an election outcome seems a far fetched illustration of the “Butterfly Effect” — a small change triggering a significant outcome. That’s what “The Great Hack” suggests.

On the one hand, because we had a working digital payments backbone and had activated Jan Dhan accounts across the country, it meant that delivering Direct Benefit Transfers to BPL families’ banking accounts was easy, swift and leakage free.
Evolution Of The 'Humachine'
In 1997, the IBM computer, Deep Blue, beat chess world Champion Garry Kasparov in New York in what was that time thought of as a blow to chess professionals. Nineteen years later, the game - thought to be facing a threat from machines working on pure reason without the handicap of human emotions - is far from dead. It is, in fact, thriving more than ever. Will the same thing happen in the field of personal finance too?
