Abstract Silicon nitride photonics has enabled integration of a variety of components for applications in linear and nonlinear optics, including telecommunications, optical clocks, astrocombs, bio-sensing, and LiDAR.

1 Introduction Recent years have seen huge progress in the use of photonics for data processing, neural networks, and quantum circuits. However, it is still challenging to add nonlinear responses to all-optical circuits. One solution is the use of optical-to-electronic data conversion, with the drawback of adding complexity and increasing latency.
