Siam Sarower Jamil’s Biography

Siam Sarower Jamil (Bangla: সিয়াম সারোয়ার জামিল) is a Bangladeshi journalist and independent researcher. He did his master's degree in Applied Chemistry & Chemical Engineering from the Islamic University, Bangladesh. There are two books óf him published so far.

Early life and education

Siam was born in Dhamrai Upazila, Dhaka District, Bangladesh. He grew up in Dhaka, Rajshahi & Chittagong. He started his education in an Islamic madrasah at Sandwip, which is an island along the south eastern coast of Bangladesh in the Chittagong District. After completing his primary education he entered general education. He was a student of the department of Applied Chemistry & Chemical Engineering at Islamic University, Bangladesh. After Completing his graduation, he earned a law degree from City Law College, Dhaka.

Literature

The Dirty Midnight, his first poetry book in English was published on 2016 and launched on October 30, 2016. His poems have been published in various local journals. He translated the prehistory of Communist Manifesto in Bangla. It was published on 2017. He has another two books on combating disinformation.

Journalism

He is the Editor in Chief of the Industry based Bangladeshi research Journal ''Industry Today'', where he focuses on Labour rights & economical topics. He started his journalism career with Banglanews24.com from 2012. Then he joined Rtv as a Reporter. Now he has been working for Dhaka Tribune. He is active in his reporting and blogging about the labor rights, environmental, economical & political issues and violations. Siam worked with UK based English daily Morning Star & Indian Daily Financial Express, Aajker Kagaj. His research articles appeared in various national and international journals and newspaper. He is a fellow of St. Stephen's College, Delhi University.
