Always embrace change, whether it's technology, a shift in editorial focus, or trying new mediums. Upskilling is your best friend.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
I once had a really funny pitch for a product that typically doesn't get enough attention as an "everyday" boring item.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Subject line said, "Your XYZ article has a mistake in it" and the email said "...it's that you didn't include us."
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I love reading my alma mater's quarterly magazine, which is extremely well produced and embraces the spirit of the university.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That I get tons of free stuff! Haha.
