Have you ever used a typewriter?
No but I wish I can try it some day.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To deliver information of high quality timely.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Microsoft Office, Adobe Lightroom, social media.
What's your favorite social network?
Weibo (Chinese Twitter-like social media) because its feed is chronological.
Why did you become a journalist?
I was once an environmental study student, and aimed to be a storyteller delivering information of high quality.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Yes. I wrote a story about the history of a man-made lake in campus, and reported on how the school maintained it to build a small ecosystem.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
A series report on a chemical spill near a fishery village in southeast China.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime. But I tend to turn my work mode on when the night comes.
What's your favorite drink?
Iced Americano. Venti.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Museums, galleries, or cafes.

The New York Times
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
I don't only cover stories about China, though that's my specialty.
