Abstract Intestinal dysbiosis (changes in the gut commensal microbiome) is related to several ophthalmic diseases. The aim of this study was to verify whether oral specific probiotics can alter the clinical course of chalaziosis and its recurrence. A prospective comparative pilot study involving 26 children suffering from chalaziosis was conducted. Children were randomly divided into two groups.
