Thomas Byrne has insisted becoming the Junior Sports Minister is no less important than his previous role. The Fianna Fáil TD for Meath East was European Affairs Minister for the past two and a half years, following the Programme for Government agreed upon after General Election 2020. However, the Cabinet reshuffle last month saw him move into the Sports brief.

All LMFM News It happened just before midnight last night. Gardaí are investigating an arson attack on a car in Drogheda. The vehicle was set alight at a property in the Gort Bui estate on the Ballymakenny Road shortly before midnight. Local Fire crews extinguished the blaze and no injuries have been reported.

It happened in the early hours of this morning. A man has been arrested over driving on the wrong side of the M3 Motorway. Gardaí in Co. Meath were alerted to the dangerous driving at around 1:30am this morning. They stopped the car after it was travelling in the overtaking lane towards them and arrested the male driver in his 30s. He was taken to Navan Garda Station, where he's since been charged and is to appear before Trim District Court at a later date.
