A new class of drugs has emerged in recent years for the treatment of obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). Securing both first-to-market status and multi-year headstart over its closest competitor, Bristol Myers Squibb's Camzyos (mavacamten) was approved by the FDA in 2022. Cytokinetics' Myqorzo (aficamten) is playing catch up, following its approval in the US market at the end of 2025, but can boast some potential advantages.

The FDA recently approved AstraZeneca's single-inhaler, fixed-dose, triple-combination product Breztri Aerosphere (budesonide/glycopyrrolate/formoterol fumarate) as a maintenance treatment for asthma. Approval was based on findings from the Phase III KALOS and LOGOS trials, which investigated Breztri in a broad population of patients, including those with or without a recent asthma exacerbation.
