What was your first job as a journalist?

As BSA MEdia Fellow I joined the BBC Science team in New Broadcasting House, London, working both on radio & news online.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

of course - and TipEx - and carbon paper.

How is social media changing news?

it is bringing news down to the street, but making it global and ubiquitous at once.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

My inquisitiveness, a telephone, keyboard and mouse.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

A sand dune engulfing Star Wars film set: headline "Dune defeats Star Wars" was vetoed! Story more hits than "Jay-Z changes name" on BBC!

What's your favorite drink?

my first cup of tea in the morning
