Sexual dimorphism of midbrain catecholaminergic metabolism revealed by neuromelanin-sensitive MRI
Abstract Neuromelanin-sensitive magnetic resonance imaging (NM-MRI) is used as a proxy biomarker of midbrain catecholaminergic metabolism and synthesis capacity, particularly within dopaminergic nuclei. However, despite strong translational evidence for sexual dimorphism in dopaminergic systems, inconsistent sex differences in NM-MRI signal limit its interpretability as a non-invasive measure of catecholaminergic synthesis capacity.
Associations among mediodorsal thalamic-ventrolateral prefrontal cortical white matter fiber dispersion and OCD-related incompleteness
Abstract Recent studies link microstructural properties of thalamocortical connections to obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) symptom dimensions such as harm avoidance and incompleteness. However, the contribution of specific thalamic nuclei remains unclear. The mediodorsal nucleus (MD), implicated in OCD, includes magnocellular (MDMC) and parvocellular (MDPC) subdivisions, thought to support affective and cognitive processes, respectively.

Neural markers of working memory and emotional regulation are predictors of future depression severity in at risk young adults: a replication study
Abstract Objective neural markers that reflect the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms of affective disorders are needed to facilitate early identification of individuals most at risk of future affective disorders and ultimately provide neural targets to guide therapeutic interventions.
Elevated pre-supplementary motor area activity during reward expectancy: An impulsivity-related neural marker of vulnerability to bipolar and externalizing disorders
Abstract Mania/hypomania is pathognomonic of bipolar disorder (BD), yet early identification remains challenging. Impulsivity is a key feature of mania/hypomania and of externalizing disorders that may predispose to BD, but neural markers of impulsivity-related risk remain unknown.
