An integrated waste heat recovery system for Rankine cycle power generation from the steel slag hot disintegration process

Abstract Efficient recovery of steel slag waste heat is essential for decarbonizing the energy-intensive iron and steel industry, yet its utilization has long been constrained by the low exergy and high hardness of slag-derived steam. To address these limitations, this study develops an integrated waste heat recovery system for the steel slag hot disintegration process that incorporates radiative heating surfaces, a steam drum, and a Rankine cycle.
