The Washoe County School District has reversed course again, saying a $164 million rebuild of Wooster High School is back on the table. In April, the district scaled back plans to rebuild the 64-year-old Reno campus, citing financial concerns and uncertainty about projected enrollment at the school off Plumb Lane. The plan shifted after months of back-and-forth between the school board, the public and district staff.

New WCSD superintendent to earn $287,500 base salary plus perks

The next Washoe County School District superintendent will receive a higher starting salary and larger potential raises than her predecessor, Joe Ernst. According to a draft contract, Tiffany McMaster will begin with a base salary of $287,500. The agreement guarantees annual raises of 5% if she receives a rating of "effective" or "highly effective." It's a pay bump from Ernst, who started at $280,000 with a 2% annual raise for performance.

He was last seen floating on his back in water estimated to be between 125 and 175 feet deep at the reservoir 35 miles east of Las Vegas.
