We thank Dr. Beşler for his letter () and his interest in our paper titled “Could ChatGPT Pass the UK Radiology Fellowship Examinations?” published in Academic Radiology in December 2023 (). The potential of artificial intelligence in this sphere has certainly demonstrated significant strides in recent times and at a rapid pace, with continuous developments being made over a short time period. We also appreciate the letter by Güneş and Cesur, expressing their keen interest in the articles ().

Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer (ChatGPT) is an artificial intelligence (AI) tool which utilises machine learning to generate original text resembling human language. AI models have recently demonstrated remarkable ability at analysing and solving problems, including passing professional examinations. We investigate the performance of ChatGPT on some of the UK radiology fellowship equivalent examination questions.
