1 Introduction The general increased life expectancy worldwide is a fact and the number of individuals facing mental health disorders is rising (Collishaw 2014; McManus et al. 2019; Santomauro et al. 2021; Ford et al. 2019). The prevalence of mental disorders had already increased significantly by 2.47% between 1990 and 2017. Years lived with disability due to mental illness have risen by 13.5% over the past decade (Richter et al. 2019).

DISCUSSION This study used the GPS to assess the association between age and total symptom and subdomain scores for self-reported COVID-19–related PTEs and other types of trauma exposure. There were two main findings. First, we found that as age increased, GPS total symptom scores decreased.
