It was a match Airola lost by decision 7-0 and one he looked to get redemption with this season.
Trivially Speaking: Bela Lugosi was immortalized as Count Dracula
His last appearance in this world was just as many of his fans would have imagined. When Bela Lugosi died his son and his mother had him buried in one of the “Dracula” cape costumes he wore in his most remembered role. Contrary to popular belief he hadn’t requested it, but they thought it only fitting and what he would have wanted. It was probably a fitting farewell but in his 73 years Bela Lugosi played more characters than just Count Dracula.

2019 All-Area Volleyball: Loveland outside hitter Morgan Watson earns player of the year

Instead of picking up where she left off, CHSAA regulations forced Watson to sit out the first half of her introductory campaign with the Indians.

What a Life: Hoping ‘the wheels don’t fall off’ of your Christmas celebration
I knew that somewhere other than where we lived in Douglas, Alaska in December of 1948, it was nearly summer. Based on the local landscape — with 3 feet of snow on the ground, summer must have been at least a year away. Outside our back door was nothing but snow. I was wishing for a few palm trees and coconut palms in the landscape. I was warmly dressed for the occasion, from top to bottom.

What Times-Call readers said this week
Here is a selection of comments on stories posted by the Times-Call on its Facebook page Dec. 14-20, 2019. Longmont City Council votes to remove ‘illegal aliens’ label from city contracts Matt Becker: Illegal substance is now undocumented substance. Anna K. M. Gravelle: Undocumented implies a mere absence of the proper paperwork: an immigrant who simply forgot his visa or passport. It completely whitewashes over the fact that the person entered illegally and/or remains here illegally.
Carl Brady: Climate change extremists attack those who don’t conform
I am encouraged by more contributors to the Times-Call forum being willing to take the time to speak out against the “climate crisis” mania. I especially appreciate the listing of facts and truths related to the science of climate change. This is important because a favorite tactic of climate change alarmists is the “straw man” argument.

Construction I was driving north out of Loveland on Wilson going to Fort Collins, and I noticed that they are moving the dirt and going to build in what I thought was open spaces out there. Is that not open spaces, does anybody know? Seems like there’s an awful lot of construction going to be happening out there. I see there’s a giant crane over there on Hidden Valley Drive by the Devil’s Backbone on Highway 34. Just wondering what they are doing over there?
