Samsung has introduced a new addition to its consumer SSD lineup with the launch of the 990 SSD, targeting gamers, creators, and mainstream PC users looking for high-end PCIe 4.0 storage without stepping up to the flagship Pro models. Coming in 1TB and 2TB capacities and promises sequential read speeds of up to 7,250MB/s on the 2TB model and 7,150MB/s on the 1TB version, both drives deliver write speeds of up to 6,450MB/s.

AMD has confirmed that its next-generation EPYC Venice processors based on the Zen 6 architecture will make their official debut during the company’s Advancing AI event scheduled for July 22 and 23. The confirmation came from AMD CTO Mark Papermaster, who described Venice as a processor family designed to handle both traditional enterprise workloads and the growing demand for AI infrastructure, while emphasizing that x86 remains the preferred platform for many enterprise customers.

VESA has announced a new certification for OLED displays called DisplayHDR True Black 1400, raising the bar for HDR performance on premium monitors, laptops, and professional content creation displays. The new certification targets the latest generation of OLED panels that can deliver significantly higher brightness levels while preserving the deep blacks and high contrast ratios OLED technology is known for.
