Introduction Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Imidazoles and 1,2,3 and 1,2,4-triazoles are common motifs in a variety of pharmaceuticals. The fact that triazoles physicochemically resemble the amide bond is widely used in the preparation of peptide analogs. (1) Except for the amide bond, bioisosteres of esters and heterocycles are routinely prepared. (2) Examples of applications include antibacterial, antifungal, and anticancer drugs and radiosensitizers.
