1 INTRODUCTION The nucleolus, a multifunctional organelle within the cell nucleus, has long been recognized as the epicentre of ribosome biogenesis, where the intricate dance of RNA and proteins orchestrates the assembly of these cellular workhorses. However, recent advancements have unveiled a more complex narrative, portraying the nucleolus as a dynamic hub involved in an array of cellular processes crucial for plant growth, development, and stress responses.
