Bikes named after inspirational cyclists for International Women's Day

To celebrate International Women's Day, Transport for London (TfL) and Santander Cycles have unveiled 10 hire bikes named after inspirational female cyclists. More than 150 public nominations were submitted from Londoners for their female cycling heroes. Many of the nominees are women who have paved the way for others, such as grassroots leaders and advocates for safer cycling infrastructure.

King asked to save UK's oldest Indian restaurant

Supporters of Veeraswamy restaurant rallied outside Buckingham Palace [BBC] Campaigners have taken a petition to Buckingham Palace to call on King Charles III to stop the closure of the UK's oldest surviving Indian restaurant. Veeraswamy was founded in March 1926. It has remained in its original home at Victory House on Regent Street since it opened, also continuing to serve food through the wartime Blitz.
