Every Monday, DePaul professor Maya Miyairi-Steel goes to a variety of grocery stores and to the Seton Soup Kitchen, where she fills her car with donations the kitchen receives from Costco. She then drops the food off at McGowan South, where the Food Forward Project distributes it to students — for free. Miyairi-Steel says while some people believe college students can afford food, many can’t.

The midterm race is pressuring both parties to win seats in Congress. The Trump administration is worried about the Republican Party losing both the House and the Senate, leading the president to urge states like Mississippi and Tennessee to redraw voting lines. Virginia and California have responded by voting on new districts that would create more Democratic seats. This has caused an uproar from both sides. Is any of it fair?

It’s the 1980s, and people are throwing their newspapers off the Fullerton platform, too tired to find a trash can. The ward superintendent, Peter Schivarelli, was in charge of several things, including city sanitation. Schivarelli, responding to a request from the CTA, decided to help clean up the litter. He suddenly had an idea. “I was watching how many people were coming off,” Shivarelli said.
